About Rhonda B.

I am so grateful for the opportunity to share my intention in creating this promotion page for Yoga as Therapy, Yoga, Myofascia Release.

I offer from my own experience, what worked for me and what I've learned throughout my healing studies Yoga and Yoga Therapy including thoughts and insights. Yoga & Myofascia release is intended to compliment/assist the healing journey.

About me: In 2013, I was involved in a high impact car accident just a few weeks after a hysterectomy. The other car driving 85kms/hr rear ended me while I was still, the spare tire in the back saved me.

I was no longer able to work, had to quit my job, lost the career I've studied & trained for my whole adult life, lost friends, and lost the outgoing, active version of myself that I knew up until that point.

There was no quick fix, it was a long healing journey. The pain medication was helpful in taking away the pain but I wasn't able to function. I explored many options to find release from pain however depression soon followed. Pain made me cranky, I no longer wanted to be in my body which is not inviting for socializing. This was an extreme contrast to who I was pre-accident.

Eventually I was diagnosed with Chronic pain, fibromyalgia and sent to the Chronic pain clinic. That is where I was introduced to Yoga as therapy. I didn't know what to expect however I was pleasantly surprised at how much I learned about pain in my body.

For my own healing journey, physio, chiro, massage, acupuncture, injection therapy, reikki all helped but I had to keep going back. Some, one, or all of these healing modalities might work successfully for other however that was not the case for me. Implementing a consistent Yoga practice to my healing journey allowed me to gradually stop needing injections, physio, and massage. I still get pain but that is typically when I get away from practices. When I experience pain now, I know what to do about it.

My intention is to share my compassion for people and offer techniques I’ve learned to assist in recovery. Our Yoga tool box is full of options; breath work (pranayama), postures (asana), meditations,..etc, or simply just listening - holding space for you.

With Gratitude,
Rhonda B
